Beginner Pole

As a beginner pole student, you will start with basic moves and dynamic stretching to warm up your muscles and prevent injury. Think about when you go to the gym and use the equipment – fitness experts always recommend stretching or warming up before a workout right? It’s the same thing with pole. Because this is a fitness class, similar rules apply. Advanced moves will come as you learn, so don’t get frustrated! Proper technique is crucial for executing moves safely and effectively. Pay attention to your instructor’s guidance, they want you to succeed! Don’t take yourself too seriously and enjoy the process of learning and improving. It will take time to perfect tricks and moves, be patient with yourself. You might be surprised though, when you get something you didn’t think was possible. Such a high! Let’s chase it…

Dressing appropriately will make a huge difference – wear shorts and a sports bra or tank top to allow your skin to grip the pole. Avoid wearing lotion, as it can make the pole slippery. It becomes less fun when you can’t grip the pole. Check out our studio policy for more details.

Students will gain strength, flexibility, learn choreography, and technique for lifting off the ground in beginner pole. You’ll gradually build up to inversion lifts, pole sits and holds to begin conditioning the leg and body skin to reduce “pole burn” for advancement. The more exposure you get on the pole, the more comfortable you’ll feel.
